The first single by New Order. This appeared in two different sleeves boasting two different recordings of the title track 'Ceremony' (itself a Joy Division song) which came before and after Gillian Gilbert joined New Order. The original 'Green sleeve' version is slightly longer than the second version. The B-side 'In A Lonely Place' (another Joy Division track) is the same recording on both versions. The artwork designed by Peter Saville is based on the Albertus type specimen (Design: Berthold Wolpe 1937)
